Biography

Andy possesses a bachelor of science in philosophy with a minor in criminal justice, and a master's in elementary education, and an administration certificate. Mr. Burrola has worked in education for fourteen years of practical direct student contact. He spent the last five years working with students as a learning support coordinator in Tucson. He was a classroom teacher for eight years, and a counselor intern for three years. 

His wife is a high school librarian and together they are raising their son and daughter. Andy is an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and loves watching football.

Ms. Anderson is the school’s exceptional education teacher. Her goal is to specialize in supporting students through alternative methods of education. She also spends an abundance of time in our community garden.

I have my bachelor’s degree in secondary English education from the University of Arizona and a master’s degree in educational leadership for community college and higher education from Northern Arizona University. 

I have been working in the Tohono O’odham community for over 11 years. I have been a high school English teacher, a student support specialist, and an academic advisor at the college level. 

I am a strong proponent for voter registration, a paper flower making enthusiast, and a Star Trek and Harry Potter nerd.

Biography

Mr. Morales graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor of psychology. He also attended the University of Santa Clara in the Family, Marriage, and Child Counseling Program. He has four decades of experience working with kids that are considered at risk of dropping out of school, getting into trouble, and more. Mr. Morales has a daughter who lives in Marana with his grandson and a granddaughter attending the U of A. He likes to spend his free time working out and considers himself a gym rat. His favorite entertainment is listening to the blues, which means he attends over twelve blues festivals a year, which also requires that he does a lot of dancing. 

Biography

Mr. Smith previously worked in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles before discovering a love of teaching in alternative education. This is his tenth year in education and his sixth year with BUSD. We are proud to have him as a part of our team!
